Clémence Polès Farhang is a Franco-Iranian photographer based in New York City. Raised between Sharjah and Dubai at the intersection of Arabic, Western, and Iranian cultures, her work explores identity, memory, and the intimate textures of everyday life.
In 2015, she began Passerby, an ongoing photographic and oral archive that has documented more than 300 women in their homes across New York, Paris, London, and Los Angeles. In 2026, the project became the subject of her first solo exhibition, Can I come over and take your picture?, curated by Nastasia Alberti at Slip House, New York. The show ran from February 16 to March 28, with coverage including the New York Times, The Guardian, and Service95.
Commissions include Vogue, Mother Tongue, FAR–NEAR, Acacia, Anyone Girl, and New York Magazine.
